Tuesday TIPS---Stamen Tips

I discovered this by accident because I wasn't really looking for this idea.  It really just happened.....I was digging through my stuff looking for something to make the stamens pop.  I tried Flower Soft.  It was okay but I wanted something different.....dig and look, dig and look some more....
And I found my Pearl pens.
I have one in silver and this one in gold.  I did a little test on my brown sheet so I could figure out the right pressure so it didn't splat all over.  Then I covered each end of the stamens.  I left them overnight because it was bedtime....Did you ever notice that when it is time for bed than your creativity just goes wild....this happens every night. *sigh*
I used Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms flower and stamen dies.  There are 3 different ones.  I just needed to use the smallest one.  I  used TH Distress Ink Mustard Seed for the colour on the stamens.

And a close up so you can see it better....

And here it is on a HC Arianna flower....

After all this I took a trip to craft store and picked up some TH Liquid Pearls....Can't wait to try them out!!  Have fun!!!!
And some black stamens with silver tips!!

Have a great day!!!

It is all about cards today!

Today's little post is about some of my cards I posted to my facebook page.  I was humbled by my friends when they clicked the like button and commented on them.

This card was made with a glossy photo paper.  I was watching a Tim Holtz video on YouTube using an ombre effect with alcohol inks and blending solution.  I only have a few alcohol inks: Latte, Caramel and Ginger.  After doing this, I am definitely investing in more colors!  I used Memento Black ink to stamp the images.  I liked the second stamping for a lighter effect that gave depth to the picture.  I left it basically unadorned, just used a little flat back pearl in a dark brown just for a pop of interest.  I thought it was nice for a masculine type card.  Tim Holtz stamps were used.

This picture was done using the same technique as the one above.  I used some Tim Holtz stamps and some old clear stamps that I didn't save the company name on. I think it was Hero Arts but I could be very wrong.  I added a little Recollections bling trailing the butterfly which was made using Gold embossed Heartfelt Creations stamp and die from the Birds and Bloom collection.  It was stamped on heavy black card stock.  I really want some more of those alcohol inks.  This was so inspiring to me.

These next two pictures are the same card.  I just pulled the tag out of the vellum bag to show that I stamped a little sentiment on it.  I used Heartfelt creations flowers and background paper.  I am in awe of this company!  I love, love, love the products.  They make me feel like I am an artist with their product.

This is another of the masculine cards I was trying to create.  I used Heartfelt Creations Birds and Bloom stamp and dies.  I embossed the bird and butterfly with Tarnished Gold and used pop-up foam to give them height on the card.  I used DCWV blue glimmer and a Edge die from spellbinders to add interest.  I used clear emboss ink and Perfect Pearls to set down a nice background shimmer.  I used Bazzil black weave textured paper for the card parts.

I used Heartfelt Creations flower stamps and dies to make the flower and leaves.  I stamped Cherish in Brown Memento Ink on the DCWV paper from the Mariposa Mat stack.  I added some pearl sprays I had left over from my wedding bouquets I made 18 years ago!  Yeah, I tend to hoard!

I used DCWV Mariposa mat stack paper again here.  And of course, I used vellum to make the flowers from Heartfelt Creations and embossed them using a holographic embossing powder.  I actually ended up fussy cutting the flowers because I didn't like the way the die was cutting out my flowers.  The embossing powder flaked off too much for my taste.  I added a little tiny Spellbinder butterfly and used a glitter pen to colour the butterfly.  I love the softness and elegance of the vellum!  I hot-glued clear seed beads for the centres of the flowers.

Another card from the DCWV Mariposa stack.  I embossed Heartfelt Creations Butterfly stamps in Tarnished Gold and another set in silver using vellum for a more delicate feel.  I used a Heartfelt Creation Raindrops on Roses doily die.  I added a little glitz with the Recollections bling.  I stamped the sentiment with Memento Ink and on the red mat I distressed with Distress walnut stain ink to tone the red down.

I thought quite a few days on this card.  I had some Martha Stewart peel off stickers and I accidently dropped the packet on top of this card.  I was impessed by the look through the plastic that I just had to try.  I used my favorite Tarnished gold embossing powder on the sentiment.  It seems so simple but yet has a nice elegance to it, I think.  DCWV Mariposa Mat Stack paper.

DCWV Mariposa paper again!  Tarnished Gold embossing again on the sentiment.  Martha Steward Butterflies with a little Recolletions bling on the card.

I used the same techniqes here only I used silver embossing on the sentiment.

I used DCWV Mariposa Mat Stack paper here also.  I added a Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters Die cut flowers on Recollections Ivory Shimmer paper.  I had some Heartfelt Creations Classic Leaf stamped and die cut left overs and added a little to it.  And a little Recollections bling again by the sentiment that I cut out from a Spellbinders die.

DCVW Mariposa paper yet again!  Tarnished Gold embossed Heartfelt Creations butterflies on vellum, HC Arianna blooms die cut on light weight brown craft paper, Recollections bling, and Brown Memento Ink stamped sentiment on a Spellbinders die cut out.

This was a long post.  Thank you for taking time to read about my cards.  I appreciate you!
